Personalized Cooking Surfaces Custom Made for Your Kalamazoo
Kalamazoo custom cooking surfaces are laser-cut from solid slabs of 304 stainless steel that are either 3/16" or 1/4" thick (Hybrid grills require 1/4" because of their extreme temperature performance capabilities). The heavy weight of the stainless steel has a high "heat mass," holding the heat and transferring it to the food. The "grill mark" performance of our custom stainless steel surfaces is rivaled only by cast iron grill grates. Unlike a cast iron grate, however, Kalamazoo stainless steel surfaces are easy to care for.
These surfaces are cut-to-order combining the cooking patterns of your choice. You can even include your initials, monogram, logo or other artwork. The most popular and versatile combination for Kalamazoo 900 Series Grills is to divide the 864 square-inch cooking surface into 1/2 meat, 1/4 fish and 1/4 vegetable patterns.
The optimized patterns are a joy to use with different types of food and different styles of outdoor cooking.
Select Your Own Custom Combination of Grilling Patterns:
Meat Pattern features wide open spaces to allow maximum exposure to your gas, wood or charcoal fire. The sheer mass of the stainless steel holds heat for excellent "grill marks." |
Fish Pattern features a nearly solid design designed to support the most delicate fish fillets and protect them from becoming too dry. Use it at lower temperatures for fish such as sole, orange roughly, tilapia and catfish. Use it at high temperatures to "pan sear" a steak or for cajun-style blackening. The fish surface is also ideal for vegetable stir-fry.
Vegetable Pattern features an open pattern with narrower spaces specifically designed to prevent asparagus, green beans and other vegetables from falling through. The vegetable surface is also ideal for providing a little extra support to meatier fish like salmon, halibut, swordfish and tuna that don't always need the full support of the fish surface.
Solid/Hibachi surface features a solid design for griddle-work and teppan-style cooking like you enjoy at popular Japanese steakhouses. Full surfaces of Solid/Hibachi pattern feature a cleaning hole for sending grease and bits of food down into your grill's deep-hopper cleanout. |
