Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet™ Fires Up Its Outdoor Artisan Pizza Ovens for the 2008 Taste Of Kalamazoo
Company Returns to the Annual Event, July 17–19, 2008
CHICAGO, IL (June 26, 2008) – Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet™— the renowned maker of outdoor cooking and entertaining equipment— will once again heat up its Outdoor Artisan Pizza Ovens to serve more than 1,000 patrons at the Taste of Kalamazoo, a 23-year-old tradition where more then 30 area restaurants, culinary businesses, wineries and breweries offer a diverse selection of menu offerings for three days at Arcadia Creek Festival Place in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet plans to serve individual Neapolitan-style thin crust pizzas prepared in the company’s Outdoor Artisan Pizza Oven, an easy-to-use, gas-fired countertop oven ideal for baking everything from deep-dish pizzas and calzones to the ultra thin and crispy pizzas being served at the event. Hand crafted of stainless steel, the Outdoor Artisan Pizza Oven helps backyard chefs cook like true professionals. The arched top reflects heat down to the toppings to cook them quickly and thoroughly, while the professional baking stone delivers a perfect crust. Designed to come up to temperature quickly, the gas burner delivers a broad temperature range from 250-800°F, while the integrated smoking drawer imparts the flavor of a wood fire.
For the event, Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet will offer patrons the option of eight toppings— from sausage and pepperoni to jalapeño and habanera peppers to ham and pineapple— to customize an individual pizza, with cooking time estimated at approximately five minutes per pizza. Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet’s Founder and Director of Products, Geoffrey Bullard, will personally oversee the booth and its volunteers, and will help prepare more than 1,000 pizzas for the hungry patrons of the Taste of Kalamazoo.
