Grilling Safety
Please read your user manual before using your grill. Follow all safety instructions contained in your manual.
Natural gas grills should have a gas shut-off valve near, but not too near the grill.
Liquid propane grills should be shut down with the lid open. First, turn off the valve on the propane tank. When all burners have gone out, turn off the grills burner valves.
Follow safe lighting procedures. Always ensure the burner valves are off before opening the gas supply to the grill. Always light the grill with the hood open to minimize gas buildup. Open the hood, then open the gas supply to the grill. Next open the burner valve and light the grill. If the grill does not light immediately, turn off the burners. Wait five minutes, and then open the burner valve and try again.
When using charcoal or hardwood in Dual-fuel grilling drawers, always put the ash guard in place before lighting the grill. When opening dual-fuel drawers, pull them open slowly, shaking them vertically to help all ash and embers to fall into the grill hopper or the ash guard.
Use caution when working with a hot grill. Gloves should be worn when using the side-mounted smoker box or adjusting the hood vent. All parts of the hood except the handle will get very hot.
