Kalamazoo Offset Smoker Box for Traditional American Barbecue
The side-mounted smoker box option (shown on a K450GS grill above) is available for any free-standing Kalamazoo 450 or 900 Series grill model. In some special situations, it may also be added to a built-in grill.
This Kalamazoo exclusive allows you to smoke food in the main cooking chamber of your grill with a smoke and heat source that is offset. This allows you to do slow-smoked barbecue at 225 degrees with the sole heat source coming from the snuffed fire in the smoker box. It also allows you to do smoke-roasting, with smoke from the smoker box supplementing the cooking heat in the main grill chamber.
All Kalamazoo 450 and 900 Series Grills excel at a wide variety of cooking techniques, including traditional American barbecue. But if you want to frequently slow-smoke foods, consider adding a smoker box to your grill.
The smoker box option enables any traditional smoking technique — wet or dry — slow or fast (without the grill's burners or with). The traditional, side-mounted smoker box includes the trays needed for each technique and easy to use baffles for snuffing the fire and controlling the amount of smoke that enters the grill body.
